Aakriti Ghimire, Kathmandu (Nepal), received her B.A. in Legal Studies from New York University (NYU) Abu Dhabi in 2021. Aakriti is a storyteller by passion and journalist by profession. She writes on gender, caste, politics, climate change, family and love. She is also a documentary filmmaker and an aspiring lawyer who wants to work at the intersections of law, inequalities and technologies. Aakriti has worked at The Kathmandu Post, Nepal's largest English national daily newspaper and her writing has also been featured in The Wire and Asia News Network. As an Equitech Scholar of 2021, her biggest takeaway has been understanding the biases in data used in designing technologies, data security and its regulation.
