Agriya Khetarpal

Agriya Khetarpal (New Delhi, India) is a scientific software programmer at Quansight, where he works on foundational free and open source software in the Scientific Python ecosystem. He holds a bachelor's degree from the University of Delhi, with an academic background in computer science and applied mathematics.

He is a prolific contributor to several software projects in the domains of numerical and interactive computing, reproducibility, and accessibility. As an advocate for making the practice of scientific computing more accessible, he is actively working towards reviving the SciPy India community and its annual conference series.

The Equitech Scholars programme fostered in Agriya a unique eye for scouting and tackling policy problems at the intersection of technology and society. Ever since, his raison d'être has been to deem his experience in the world of open source transferable to interdisciplinary initiatives in AI policy, software sustainability, and combating gender norms.
