Ashna is a lawyer qualified in India, now based between London and Oxford. Before moving to the UK, Ashna worked mainly in public law and human rights litigation before completing an MPhil at the University of Cambridge. In her current role at the Blavatnik School of Government, she contributes to the evaluation of Cabinet Office's Test, Learn and Grow programme. Among other things, she works closely with a multidisciplinary team, stress-testing AI/data-driven solutions to improve outcomes for young people and families accessing vital public services.
Ashna is increasingly interested in the question of how technology, built thoughtfully and governed well, can safeguard users and strengthen (as opposed to erode) public trust. She loves having conversations with people working fluidly across disciplinary boundaries in law, tech, policy, and public sector innovation.
Outside work, you'll usually find her searching for new running routes, volunteering, or listening to Carnatic music.
