Fatima Ahmad

My name is Fatima Ahmad and I am from South Punjab, Lahore and Islamabad, Pakistan. I have done MS in Peace and Conflict Studies (Summa Cum Laude) from NUST, Islamabad and B.S (Hons) in Sociology and Socio-cultural Studies Magna Caum Laude (University of the Punjab, Lahore). I was one of the 40 “Young Development Fellows” at The Ministry of Planning, Development and Special Initiatives in 2022-2023 and one out of 40 “Women of Color Advancing Peace, Security and Conflict Transformation Pipeline Fellows” in 2024.

Having worked in development and public policy spaces, I find myself increasing interested in development practice in the areas of conflict context monitoring, program management and supporting the programs in thematic areas of gender, health, livelihoods, WASH and emergencies. I love fieldwork research and contributing to the initiatives supporting partnerships for improving development outcomes. I plan to undertake a second Masters degree focused on development so I would be able to learn and apply the theories, methods and research in my own work.
