Gabriel is a purpose-driven software engineering student at the African Leadership University and a passionate advocate for community-led innovation in refugee settlements. Growing up in the Kiryandongo Refugee Camp, Gabriel has transformed personal challenges into fuel for grassroots leadership, particularly in agriculture, environmental sustainability, and youth empowerment.
A visionary problem-solver, Gabriel is developing a data-driven farming support system to help small-scale refugee farmers make informed decisions about crop yield, soil health, and water use—especially critical in communities with limited access to agricultural tools and climate insights. Gabriel's leadership track record includes training communities in conflict resolution through the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative, delivering financial literacy programs with the Finnish Refugee Council, and leading a plastic waste management project in partnership with the National Geographic Society and The Nature Conservancy.
With a deep commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals—particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 5 (Gender Equality)—Gabriel aspires to build an inclusive tech ecosystem where marginalized youth can innovate, lead, and scale impact. His ultimate mission is to ensure that refugee communities are no longer seen as recipients of aid, but as hubs of talent, resilience, and transformative solutions for Africa’s future.
