Gayatri Dewan

Gayatri was born and brought up in New Delhi, India. She completed a Postgraduate Diploma and Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Ashoka University. At IDinsight, she supported several Monitoring and Evaluation partnerships with the Indian Government, with a focus on state capacity and strenghtening the govenrment's use of data. Prior to joining IDinsight, Gayatri worked as a Research Community Specialist at the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy where she analysed ways in which CMIE’s pan-India survey data could be used for Poverty and Inequality research.

Her interests lie in advancing the use of evidence using technology, particularly with respect to gender and livelihoods. She hopes to contribute to a future where women can lead lives of dignity without fear of violence. In her free time, Gayatri loves to read, experiment with coffee, soak in the winter sun, and travel to the hills.
