Hab'il Xol is a Maya K'iche' computer science technician from Sololá, Guatemala. Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Computer Systems Technology. Alongside her technical formation she's been actively participating in formations about human rights, social auditing, anti-racist communication, and community radio. She is an active member of an Indigenous women communicators network, where she writes about important events in her community. Recently helped shaping a public policy for youth employability in rural Sololá - sitting at a table were young indigenous voices are rarely invited and that experience taught her that participation is not a favor it is a right that can change indigenous youth futures. Hab'il dreams of a future where technology can be accountable to indigenous communities. She wants to build open, community-led tools. Her aspiration is to become a bridge between the necessities of her community and the field of ethical AI and technology so the next generation of changemakers in Sololá grows up not with the lack of digital infrastructure, but with tools that see and hear them.
