Driven by a lifelong passion for books, arts, and writing, Katrina is a multifaceted high school student from São Paulo, Brazil. She channels her curiosity into diverse academic pursuits, competing in scientific Olympiads in subjects ranging from math to astronomy. Katrina also cares deeply about social and environmental issues, and, for being motivated to raise awareness about plastic pollution, she founded an organization to promote sustainability practices that minimize human impact on the environment. Most recently, Katrina participated in the AI & Social Impact course through the RISE Finalist Benefit Program. This enriching experience connected her with like-minded students globally and provided thought-provoking insights into AI's ethical implications. By engaging in discussions with diverse perspectives, Katrina gained knowledge critical to guiding AI's development for the greater good. Her determination to keep learning, create change, and collaborate with others is sure to lead to a bright future.
