United States

Luke graduated from the Northeastern Align Program in 2023 in Boston, which is a Computer Science Master's program for people without CS backgrounds. Before that, he got a degree in economics, moved from Michigan to Seattle, and worked as everything from an Amazon logistics dispatcher to an Uber driver. He is currently working as a cook at Juliet Restaurant. He loves learning about how computers work and systems programming, and created an offline ray tracer in the Rust programming language. He studied Bayesian/CS-style statistics in several forms at Northeastern, including causality and probabilistic programming. He also reads whenever he can summon sufficient attention, including the English canon (e.g The Tempest), politics (e.g The Code of Capital), and science fiction (e.g New York 2140).His current goal is to do science. He is pursuing a new career in bioinformatics, hoping that his background in programming, statistics and machine learning, and economics prepares him to help that field advance human understanding of nature and provide effective medicines.
