Marika Pescosolido is an Italian-Macedonian physicist majoring in Physics with a minor in German at the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, United States. Her research focuses on the physics of cognition, sitting at the intersection of physics, psychology, and neuroscience. Marika is recognized as a 2024 RISE Global Winner and a United World Colleges (UWC) alumna of Robert Bosch College in Germany. In 2026, she participated in several prominent international events, including Harvard WECode, APS CU*iP, and the Southern Regional Honors Council. Her long-term interests lie in particle physics and quantum field theory, with a particular focus on their applications to healthcare and justice. In May 2026, Marika founded Law-Tie, a non-profit dedicated to empowering youth navigating the court system alongside pro-bono legal representation. Outside of academia, she contributes to the Italian UWC National Committee, supporting outreach efforts and managing their website. In her free time, Marika is also a passionate Flamenco dancer and loves wandering the streets of Rome, the city where she was born, to relax on late summer evenings.
