United States

Nicole (New York, New York, United States) is a young professional dedicated to increasing access-to-justice for marginalized communities navigating complex legal systems. Born in Mt. Vernon, New York and raised within a working-class family from Mexico and the Dominican Republic, Nicole uses her personal experiences to inform her advocacy. As a former paralegal who supported asylum seekers in ICE detention and field organizer who mobilized migrant workers against labor rights violations, she seeks innovative ways to democratize access to legal knowledge for everyday people.

Most recently, as an Adobe Digital Academy Scholar, Nicole has participated in an intensive UX Design bootcamp and plans to apply this training to build legal technologies for public good. She is grateful to participate in the Civic Tech Institute and is excited to pursue capstone projects that she can build upon further once she begins law school this upcoming fall.
