Since his early childhood, Omar Naja has always held a lot of interest in science, which first presented itself through a love for animals and dinosaurs, and slowly morphed into a fascination for genetics, cell biology, and bioinformatics. Born in Beirut, Lebanon, a city not really well known for large green expanses full of animal, Omar satisfied his curiosity for the beauty of nature through books, which remains to this day, one of his major passions.Omar is currently enrolled in the Lebanese American University, where he studies Bioinformatics, a newer major which aims to bridge the gap between classical biological studies and computer science, by employing new in-silico techniques to solve problems in the realm of biology. He aims to continue working in this field, through the pursuit of graduate degrees bioinformatics. To complement his set of knowledge, he has also enrolled in a minor in data analytics, and has sought to join the Equitech Scholars Program, all in the aims to gains new skills that would hopefully prove themselves useful in his future career, in the fields of data science and artificial intelligence.
