Rawan Gafar, Ash Sharqia (Egypt) graduated in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Higher Technological Institute, 10th of Ramadan City in Egypt. Rawan is an aspiring machine learning and AI engineer who is passionate about applying ML/AI tools to problems in healthcare. She is a passionate advocate for computer science education and has mentored students as a Section Leader for Stanford University’s Code in Place. As an EquiTech Scholar, Rawan hopes to explore applications of data science to understanding public health challenges in Egypt as well as reducing gender and racial bias in social media algorithms.
