Ruby Rios Ramirez

Ruby Ramirez is a recent graduate from the University of California San Diego with a B.S. in Cognitive Neuroscience. As a first generation student, her experience learning how to navigate her educational journey led her to discover her love for coding. Through immense support and mentorship, she has been a research assistant intern at Stanford University and UC San Diego studying computational neuroscience. Her studies and experiences have inspired her to pursue neuroscience research that would focus on developing technology using machine learning & data science to help detect early neural disorders. In addition, her passions include pushing for equitable access for education and healthcare especially for underserved communities in the United States and beyond. As a Equitech Scholar, she is looking forward learning new data science tools to begin developing technology that could bring to light information about finding care for those who can’t afford it.
