Born in Zimbabwe, Shakani holds a Bachelor's degree in Information Technology from the Chinhoyi University of Technology in Zimbabwe. Having grown up with an interest in sciences, computers were something that she discovered an interest in much later in her life. She currently works as a software developer doing what she loves, which is programming. Being a part of the Equitech Futures Applied Data Institute connected her with many passionate and motivated individuals that continue to inspire her to use her skills to one day make a difference in her community. The fundamentals of Data Science instilled in her opened her eyes to the possibilities that technology could offer the world, and that she could be a part of all of that. She wishes to one day continue her studies and pursue a Master's Degree in computer science. When she is not writing or debugging some code, she spends her time reading and watching fantasy movies.
