Steve Agong is a Kenyan professional with an interdisciplinary background in crop protection, food safety and law. He holds a Master’s degree in Crop Protection (Plant Pathology) and a Bachelor’s degree in Crop Improvement and Protection, and has worked in regulatory, research, and project coordination with institutions including the Plant Protection & Food Safety Directorate and FAO.

Steve currently serves as a Registration Officer with the Pest Control Products Board, where he applies scientific and regulatory expertise to governance and compliance matters. His professional interests span integrated pest management, sustainable agriculture, environmental health and safety, and policy development within food systems. Steve is passionate about strengthening regulatory frameworks that promote safe agricultural production and fair trade while protecting public health and ecosystems.

He aspires to pursue a PhD in Molecular Plant Pathology and contribute to innovative, science-driven solutions that enhance food security, climate resilience, and responsible agricultural development across Africa.
