Yanis is a first-year bachelor's student in computer science at TU Delft, the Netherlands. With a keen interest in social sciences, he chose to study CS for its potential to address social issues. He is driven to make digital services more accessible and intuitive for the blind and visually impaired community, and is curious about how AI could help achieve that goal. Before beginning his bachelor's degree, Yanis was a member of a student startup focused on mental wellbeing as part of the Young Enterprise competition, where he coordinated the design of a mental wellbeing journal tailored to high school students, and where his team reached the East of England finals. Yanis also has experience in local radio, through hosting a live weekly radio show for four years on his local community radio station in Ipswich, UK. His favorite experiences include producing an audio documentary about plastic pollution featuring local initiative leaders, and interviewing the host of the BBC's flagship tech show, Spencer Kelly of BBC Click. He also enjoyed working on internal projects, such as rebranding the station's audio imaging to highlight the station's authenticity as a local volunteer-led alternative to commercial radio.
