Aayusha Shrestha, Kathmandu (Nepal), is a rising senior majoring in Computer Science at New York University Abu Dhabi. Aayusha is passionate about encouraging women to pursue STEM careers and she aims to do so by creating safe and brave spaces for women within the STEM space. In 2021, she led weSTEM’s (Women Empowered in STEM) annual High School Conference for girls in the UAE. She was also an Opinion and News Desk Editor at The Gazelle, NYUAD’s student-led publication and vice-president of hackAD, the tech culture student group at NYUAD where she organized panel discussions, speaker series, tech career workshops, and collaborative project initiatives for NYUAD students. As an EquiTech Scholar, she is interested in understanding how to develop inclusive policies and platforms to built digitally empowered and data literate communities in developing countries.
